Montinore Estate “Borealis”   WVA

 When you visit Montinore at harvest, the winery is filled with the gorgeous scent of freshly cut white flowers and tropical fruit.  Where’s my hammock?  In the glass the aromas cover the full spectrum of white peach, fuji apple, ripe pineapple and bright meyer lemon zest, accented by orange blossom and dried honey dust.  As you swirl, it starts softly, sweetly, like a ripe donut peach doused with lime, poached pears, and a spicy star anise finish.  This wine is a serious gateway wine at a sweet price $16.  Thank goodness for Gewurtztraminer.
