Cantina Terlan Alton Adige Pinot Grigio DOC

Did you spend a week at work this afternoon?  The good news it’s Wine Wednesday.

There is a daunting number of Pinot Grigio’s produced in the Veneto these days, mostly uninteresting and absurd when you consider that Pinot Gris is the cousin to Pinot Noir.  This particular Gris spends 6 months on lees gathering up her complexity for the party.  Light and crisp on her feet, she is quite focused and lightly perfumed with a distinct mineral nature gleaned from the granitic soil she calls home.  Terlano’s pedigree lies in the magnificent aromas of white linden blossom, sea foam, delicious apples and quince.  That powdery chalkiness meets you in the middle like an extended hand which draws you up to pink grapefruit zestiness and spun honey. A charming cocktail companion.  Grab some Parma ham and Castelvetrano Olives, finish with a plate of pumpkin gnocchi.  A steal at under $20.
