2010 Argyle Brut, Willamette Valley, Oregon

Behold the most beautifully made sparkler under $25 US and my “In the Mood” selection for everyday celebrations that never lets me down.   Those fine effervescent cashmere pearls from Champagne seemingly made their way across the pond and into this Oregon Sparkler.

The aromas of granny smith apple, meyer lemon curd and challah draw you to the core,  while stony and bony mineral verve layered in comice pear tart rise up and meet you on the path with energy and focus on the finish.  Spellbinding!  3 coupes up!

The 2010 growing season was challenging to even the trailblazing wineries.  Mother Nature simple refused to put out enough sun even for sparkling wines, forcing growers to drop fruit and further open up the canopy.  Couple that with more intense bird migration and you find yourself purchasing fruit to offset crop loss.  That said, with simply one sip you will experience the survival of the fittest, the Darwin of the vintage is Rolling Soles.
